New Jersey: Reclaiming the Music of Polish Composers: Refugees from World War II

November 6 @ 7:00 pm
Warsaw Philharmonic Hall before it was completely destroyed by the German bombing in 1939

Performed by pianist Grzegorz Mania, mezzo-soprano Hanna Hipp, and violinist Marta Gidazewska. Direct from Poland, and in conjunction with Holocaust Music Lost & Found, members of the Polish Chamber Musicians’ Association explore Polish composers whose lives were upended or destroyed by the Holocaust.

About our Partners
This program is presented by Holocaust Music Lost & Found (HMLF) and the Polish Chamber Musicians’ Association (PCMA), with support from the Polish Cultural Institute New York and the Malopolska Voivodeship. HMLF is dedicated to the discovery, study, and performance of works by composers whose lives and careers were disrupted or destroyed during the Holocaust, while PCMA is committed to bringing exceptional Polish musicians and repertoire to audiences around the world. Together, the organizations are working to ensure that the music and stories of these composers continue to be heard and remembered.
